Why it exists
Built because the tools on the market miss the job.
Most estimating and project software is built for a general contractor managing subcontractors: coordinating other people’s labor and a schedule around it. That’s a different problem than the one a finish carpentry crew has: paying its own people by the piece and keeping the bid and the payroll on the same numbers instead of two that quietly drift apart.
So the crew that needed it built it. PieceWrk started as the system Sun's Up Construction, LLC needed to run its own jobs: one record for the plan takeoff, the estimate, the proposal, the schedule, the daily production log, and the payroll that comes off it.

- No. PieceWrk is a product name, not a company. The only legal entity involved is Sun's Up Construction, LLC, and it operates this website, built the application, and runs the jobs the application was built for. There is no trademark and no DBA filed for the name “PieceWrk.”
- Why build your own software instead of running on something that already exists?
- Because nothing on the market fit the problem. Most estimating and project software is built for a general contractor managing subcontractors, not for a crew that pays its own labor by the piece and needs the bid and the payroll to agree. Sun's Up Construction, LLC built the system it actually needed, and kept using it once it worked.
- Does this run a real business, or is it built to look like one?
- A real one. The estimating, scheduling, field production, payroll, and billing described on this site are the same system Sun's Up Construction, LLC runs its own jobs on today, not a version built to look finished for a walkthrough.
